Mineral County is an outdoor recreation paradise for all seasons: hiking, biking, ATV, fishing, floating, hunting, wildlife watching, skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing . . . . . . The county is 87% US Forest Service land, which means access to hundreds of miles of trails for public use and home to many kinds of wildlife – deer, elk, black bear, moose, to name a few. Known for its blue ribbon fishing, the Clark Fork River runs through Mineral County. Mineral County is home to the start of the popular Hiawatha Bike Trail, and Lookout Pass Ski Area is just over the border into Idaho.
